After dark there is plenty of time to sample the local nightlife right on your door-step with tempting restaurants, live music and even happy hour cocktails if you wish. Fun is encouraged (in moderation of course) as part of a balanced yoga week!

Yoga Sessions: what to expect

Enjoy a well-earned, healthy holiday in gorgeous surroundings and practice yoga & meditation twice per day.

There is no compulsion to attend all sessions, but they will build sequentially as your week unfolds.

Mornings offer creative, flowing asana sequences, sun salutations, and invigorating pranayama (breathing) practices, with time for deep relaxation.

 

Afternoons will be individually-tailored restorative or Yin yoga session to give a totally yummy boost of energy and sense of well-being!
 

Our teaching includes all the tools of yoga (postures, breathing, focus, relaxation) to lead you in a spiritual and holistic practice. Asana (posture) practice is adapted to your physical and energetic state on the day.
 

Our prime concern is your safety so sessions will be adapted to suit all levels of experience - even for those with injuries are welcome. No need to be "good" at yoga to learn, enjoy and grow.

A typical day's schedule:

  • 7.00 – 8.30am morning yoga and pranayama in your beautiful rooftop yoga shala

  • 8.30am: healthy buffet breakfast overlooking the pool

  • 10.30 – 12pm alternate days: optional meditation and sessions on the history and practice of yoga
    OR
    free time for spa treatments, shopping, local excursions

  • One day includes downhill cycling (braking) expedition from the volcano down to sumptuous lunch in Ubud!

  • Approx 4.30pm – 5.45 pm : rejuvenating restorative yoga practice

  • Dinner at your leisure, in the many nearby healthy restaurants

 

The Details & Inclusions:

  • 7 nights’ accommodation double/twin room with en-suite (including cooked breakfast and air-con) in stunning central Ubud Yoga Resort.

  • Starting on a NSW holiday weekend, you can enjoy 8 days in Bali but take only 4 days off work

  • Airport transfers to/from the resort.

  • 23 hours varied yoga practice, instruction, discussion, meditation and more

  • Welcome and Farewell dinners in Ubud

  • 1 hour massage or spa treatment

  • Downhill cycling tour

  • Free time to explore and enjoy glorious Bali culture, food and excursions.

  • Full Yoga notes are provided from the talks and daily themes explored.

  • Monday 3: Balance: Pranayama/breathing for inner and outer harmony

  • Tuesday 4: Pratyahara: the journey within and Meditation

  • Wednesday 5: Freedom to move, the pleasure of being you in your body.
    Downhill cycling tour

  • Thursday 6: Pathways to freedom and meaning

  • Friday 7: Lila, Joyful living and the play of energies.
    Farewell dinner

  • Saturday 8: Completion and Namaste!
    Depart on evening flight or transfer elsewhere in Bali

    There is plenty of time to relax, or explore the sights and beauty of Bali.

About Narasoma resort:

A peaceful sanctuary right in the heart of Ubud. There are 8 air-conditioned twin-share or double rooms all with en-suite, built in traditional Balinese-style with generous balcony and beautiful gardens.

Facilities include a roof top yoga studio, workshop area, communal kitchen, dining area, swimming pool, meditation cave and spiritual library, gardens and divine spa treatments.

We are located 100m from the soccer pitch in central Ubud off Monkey Forest Road within easy walk of literally 100’s of amazing cafes, bars, restaurants and shops, temple dancing and other cultural icons.

Meet Your Teacher:

Mark O'Brien is the founder of Qi Health & Yoga and has practiced Yoga for 29 years with well over 11,000 teaching hours under his belt. He holds Senior/Level 3 membership of YogaAustralia. This is his 12th retreat in Bali so he knows and loves the local culture and people.

 

You'll find his teaching lively and often irreverent whilst respecting the ancient traditions of Yoga. With a gentle but intense Vinyasa style, he pays great attention to sequencing and breath in order to prepare the body & mind to receive the profound benefits of yoga.


Mark uses self-inquiry (swadhyaya) to inspire your curiosity to explore how to be truly happy through an organic, playful, grounded and mindful approach using all the tools of yoga, not just postures.


He focuses on developing practical skills that will transform the quality of your daily life. (There's no point in learning the perfect head-stand if it doesn't make your life happier in some way!)
